Renowned math education consultants, Greg Tang, Sr. Thank you for attending our community presentation to give the public the opportunity to review the procedures and practices that are currently in place in our District-wide and Building Safety Plans and discuss future improvements we are implementing in the very near future. As discussed, there will be building improvements and changes in our communications protocol. We will also have a police officer permanently stationed in our buildings. Again, we apologize for the lack of communication to our parents, faculty, staff, and our students.
Our students’ safety is our first priority. Foremost, it should be stated that on behalf of the Board of Education, it is clear that our Community’s expectation is that we ensure the safety and security of our most precious assets, the students, our children. We share this unwavering interest as we consider the safety of our children to be our highest priority. We met on February 26th to allow the Board of Education to be apprised of each and every detail of the series of unrelated events that have taken place over the past few weeks and to review our procedures and practices in our District-wide and Building Safety Plans. These unrelated events do bear, in varying levels, confidential information regarding staff and students. The objective of this meeting was to provide the Board with the information gathered by our legal department, administration and the chiefs of both the Deerpark and Port Jervis Police Departments.
